Explore the Hospital de Sant Pau, a modernist complex with 12 pavilions, courtyards and mosaics that combines art and healing, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Step inside the Hospital de Sant Pau, a jewel of modernism designed by Domènech i Montaner in the early twentieth century. Unlike traditional hospitals, its architecture sought to heal the body as well as the mind and spirit of patients, an innovative concept that is still valid today. The facility has 12 pavilions, connected by subway tunnels, decorated with mosaics, colorful tiles, intricate arches and playful details. Its courtyards and green areas reflect Montaner's conviction that nature could contribute to the recovery of the sick. In 1997, the complex was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
