Leave Melbourne and head west along the famous Great Ocean Road, passing through charming coastal towns along the way. The first stop is the London Arch, an impressive rock formation sculpted by the force of the sea. Next, visit the Loch Ard Gorge, where you can walk and see other nearby formations such as Archway, Razorback and Dumpling Pots, as well as learn about the famous shipwreck that occurred in the area. The journey continues to Port Campbell National Park, home of the iconic Twelve Apostles. Arriving early allows you to avoid crowds, hike the coastal trails and take photos at your leisure. You will then drive through Great Otway National Park and pause at Apollo Bay for lunch on your own and a brief rest. Before returning to Melbourne, a final stop is made at the Eastern View Memorial Arch for photographs. Finally, you return by highway, arriving back in the city around 20:00.
